We have published the findings of our Parish and Town Council Snapshot Survey on satisfaction with Local Planning Authorities, based on responses from 186 parish and town councils across Northamptonshire. The report highlights widespread dissatisfaction with planning services, particularly around communication, access to case officers, enforcement effectiveness, and the extent to which councils feel their views are taken into account. While online planning portals are generally seen as a strength (especially in West Northamptonshire) overall confidence in planning services remains low, with many councils reporting that services have stayed the same or worsened over the past year. The report also sets out practical “quick wins” and medium‑term actions aimed at improving engagement, transparency and user experience, and includes formal responses from both North and West Northamptonshire Councils.
