This course is an introductory training session for Councillors and Clerks covering the basic principles of planning including policy, applications, appeals and enforcement.
This course is one of the elements of the Core stage of the Councillor Development Framework.
Key areas covered in this course include:
Provide an introduction to the basics of planning policy, applications, appeals and enforcement
Explain the role of technical consultees in planning matters
Increase effectiveness in dealing with planning issues affecting you
Increase understanding of what constitutes a ‘material planning consideration’ in the determination of an application or appeal
