Finance for Councillors
This course is a must for all new Councillors! And is a good refresher for existing councillors.
This course provides an overview of the key financial responsibilities of councillors, including budgeting and precept setting, financial controls, VAT, the Annual Return, and internal and external audit requirements.
By the end of the session, participants will have a better understanding of their council's financial duties, relevant legislation and guidance, VAT implications, the accounts and audit process, and the importance of effective internal controls.
